Cultivating Connected Relationships

Hi, I’m Jim.

If you are here, you are likely dissatisfied with a relationship. You may feel confused, frustrated, or exhausted. There might even be excruciating pain.  Where you find yourself makes sense. These challenges are a normal part of life - and most of us have been there. So now you are wondering if professional support could be helpful and worth it.

I serve people like you at the intersection of struggling/thriving relationships. I see relational pain as a potential pathway to a better future; an opportunity to grow in awareness and skill. It is true - renovating inner thoughts and responses for better relationships is a lot of work! What I offer is myself in relationship with you, working together toward the changes you desire. I have helped individuals and groups reach their goals for over 25 years in a variety of vocational and cultural contexts. My coaching aims at non-judgmental growth and celebrates wins on the way to thriving relationships.

Choosing a person to help you in your relationships is deeply personal, so I welcome a free 20 minute personalized conversation to discern how I might best help you.

Who am I?

I am a person who values people and wants to help others in their relationships. My own combination of relational successes and failures, joys and pains, have deepened this passion. Just like you, I long to enjoy connection in meaningful relationships.

My own life has been an unexpected, winding journey. I was born and raised in Texas. As a younger adult, I spent over a decade in various Asian countries, then moved to Saint Louis where I enjoyed another decade as a professor and pastor. Educationally, I have completed extensive graduate work in theology, spirituality, and counseling. Professionally, it is my desire to spend my back half as a relationship coach and counselor. Centered on building loving relationships, my work here at Connections focuses on cultivating thriving ‘horizontal’ relationships (particularly with couples) and ‘vertical’ relationships (aka, spiritual direction).
